This is a mid-century modern piece of Mexican Folk Art from the town of Tonalá, Jalisco, which is famous for this specific style of hand painted ceramic pottery.

Some say this has a stylized bird motif, but I think it is more floral. I'll let the experts decide.

This style was very popular in the 1960s–70s

What I do know is that it is a beautiful Mexican planter or vase that you can use with purpose, or for decor.

Excellent condition. No chips or cracks.

About 7 inches wide and 6 inches tall. Looks like someone drilled a hole in the bottom to let water drain from a plant. Mexico is carved into the base underneath before it was fired.

Ships from the Midwest.
